Junior Robotics club open to students from prep to year 3 and introduces students coding using Beebots and Bluebots. Students are taught how to code and complete set challenges while working collaboratively in groups. Junior Robotics is run from the 1D classroom at first breaks on Wednesdays. Senior Robotics Club is run for students in years 4 to 6 and further develops their coding skills using Lego Mindstorm Robots. Students learn how to code the robots to perform set actions and will be competing in the RoboCup competitions. Contact Ms Fiona Macintosh (email@example.com) if you would like your child to attend.
Junior Coding club introduces students from Prep to year 2 to coding using Scratch Jnr. Students work on producing animations and basic games. Junior coding club is run out of Prep A classroom at first break on a Monday. Contact Mrs Linzi Hogg (firstname.lastname@example.org) if you would like your child to attend.
Senior Coding club further develops student coding abilities using Scratch. It is open to students from year 3 to 6, where they work collaboratively to produce either a game or an animation to teach other students about Cybersafety. The games/animations that the students produce can then be entered into the Premiers Coding Challenge in September each year. Senior STEM club
Senior STEM Club is held after school on Thursdays for students in years 4 to 6. Each week the students are set challenges that they need to work collaboratively to solve. The main focus of the club is based around weekly engineering challenges however students are also offered the opportunity to use this time to participate in the Choose Maths Competition and the Kids STEM convention. Chess Club is held at lunch time once per week. A chess coach is employed to teach chess to interested children in Years 1 to 6. Lessons are one hour in duration and cost $5 per week. During Terms 2 and 4, children compete in a chess tournament. Winners receive trophies and medals.
Debating Club is held before school once per week. A debating coach from Debating Australia teaches the art of debating to interested children in Years 4 to 6. Lessons are 45min in duration and cost $125 per term. Contact email@example.com.
