Purpose of homework: to support students to revise and consolidate knowledge and skills learnt in class in a largely independent manner.
As a school community, we value:
High impact, quality teaching and learning in the classroom, making best use of school hours available for learning
Homework as an opportunity to revise knowledge and practise skills learnt in class
The importance of family, recreation, and community and cultural activities
Students being able to complete homework mostly independently, equitably and with the varying and limited resources available to them
Parents’ decisions to have their children complete or not complete homework
The importance of allowing time outside of school hours for children to play, rest, participate in extra-curricular activities and help their families
