Resource Centre

​The Resource Centre is welcoming, vibrant, colourful and the literature and technology hub of the school.

Our Junior Fiction collection of books includes new and favourite titles as well as many first chapter books including the latest series for Prep- Year 3. The extensive Junior Non-Fiction section encourages younger students to enjoy the rigor and investigative nature of information books.

Our Fiction section has considerable depth in covering a wide range of genres to suit many interests and reading levels. Students also enjoy following popular authors which further encourages broad reading for pleasure which has great classroom as well as life-long benefits.

Our large collection of up-to date Non-Fiction books allow students to investigate any topic which stimulates their interest and keen zest for knowledge. This collection is also accessed by teachers for use in classrooms in addition to the comprehensive Teacher Reference collection.
 
Student Borrowing
Teachers bring their classes in for a weekly timetabled borrowing session however the Resource Centre is also open at the following times for additional student borrowing from Monday to Thursday:
  • Before school 8:30- 8:50am
  • First Break 11:15-11:45
  • After school 2:55 - 3:10pm
 
Prep and Year 1 students can borrow 1 book at any one time
Years 2 to 6 students can borrow 2 books
 
Lunch times at the Resource Centre are popular for student borrowing, reading  for pleasure, makerspace activities, student access to the computer lab for research and educational programs, Coding Thursdays and coding clubs.  Our STEAM Makerspace incorporates Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths subjects through weekly art challenges and STEM challenges outside on the library verandah.
 
The Resource Centre Computer Lab contains a bank of the latest laptops, data projector, screen and speakers which are timetabled by teachers and their classes for Internet research and building effective ICT skills using a variety of programs, learning objects and applications. Computers, laptops and iPads are also located in each classroom.
